Good Community: Supporting Asian American and Pacific Islander Organizations
When we published our “Good Community Is Community That Works For Everyone” blog, we talked about how a good community needs input, guidance, and nurturing from all angles.
As an industry, we must acknowledge that Asian and Pacific Islander communities have and will continue to play a huge role in the development of video games. Some of the most nostalgic characters and innovative game technologies come from brilliant Asian and Pacific Islander creators in all facets of game production and at all levels of development.
We invite you to join us in supporting the following organizations and learning more about their work to protect and uplift our friends in the Asian and Pacific Islander communities:
Asian American Arts Alliance
The Asian American Arts Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring greater representation, equity, and opportunities for Asian American artists and cultural organizations through resource sharing, promotion, and community building.
Asian American Writers’ Workshop
The Asian American Writers’ Workshop (AAWW) is devoted to creating, publishing, developing and disseminating creative writing by Asian Americans, and to providing an alternative literary arts space at the intersection of migration, race, and social justice.
Stop AAPI Hate advances equity, justice, and power by dismantling systemic racism and building a multiracial movement to end anti-Asian American and Pacific Islander hate.
Asian Americans Advancing Justice
Advancing Justice — AAJC works through policy advocacy, community education, and litigation to advance the civil and human rights of Asian Americans and to build and promote a fair and equitable society for all.
As we continue to talk about Good Community, we’ll be highlighting even more organizations we think everyone should get to know in the coming months. Let us know if there are any groups you want to see us work with, learn more about, or shout out in future posts!
